What up all? put down the wrenchs.

Looking for some experiance/knowledge on adding cruise to a mid 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. I have the misc parts for the conversion, from a early 1995 Eagle Talon ESi. Have read and understand the wiring diagrams related. Wiring harness from the donor has been burnt about 2-3 feet from the ecu and rewired, not a good swap, but pigtails are cool, and ecu plug is good. Plug contains all wires needed to the operate cruise.

My current ECU does not have 2 wires(at the plug)that I need:
Can I tap the plug to the ECU and catch the pin?
If tapped, would the ECU like it?

Know anything about a 'cruise brain' under the dash of the car? recently brought to my attention that it might exist, but dont recall it from any diagrams.

Are the speed sensors the same? i ass-ume

Thanks.

I think i understand what your trying to do. YOu want to remove the harness pins from the new plug you got and insert them into your plug and add the rest of the wires. You might be able to do that.

Your going to need the tools used for removing the pins and your going to need to take the connector apart. You can see there is some sort of cap on the back side to keep you from pulling the pins out. Its going to be tricky and frustrating but it is possible.

Well getting the pins out of the ECU plug is easier than I thought.
Just pry the red piece out of the center, and slide the pin side-ways. Then pull it out. CHEERS

some pics...

Closer look at the pins.

Have to see which ECU I will have to use.

it gets better daily.

I had to swap the clock spring today, lack of wire. There is a couple major junction box's behind the radio, wires from outside meet there.
need to run 4 outside wires. Some of the dash wires were already there. Still looking for others...

Think its ganna work. just hope all the motor, relay, and switchs work..

So i installed everything, and its not working.(not supprised)

Cruise switch in the left side of dash lights up(ON/OFF).

Light in gauge cluster does not come on. Should the light come on when you turn it 'ON' or when you 'SET' the cruise?

Did try it above 35mph. No juice. Has no-one else tried to add cruise? hoping to get this working so ppl can add cruise in the future.

Next... plan to change the relay, and swap the ECU. How can I test the servo motor for operation?
