#1, "Do I have a bad O2 sensor?"

MY check engine light is on..I am having a hell of a time getting a code..

My gasoline is draining a lot faster than it ever has..And I sometimes have an erratic idle..Could this be my O2 sensor?

If so, is this hard to replace, or should I have someone do it for me?>

If you know anyone with a datalogger, they can hook it up to your car to monitor the air/fuel readings from both o2 sensors. Then you could see if maybe your o2 is either dead, or responding to slowly.

There are two. The upstream is closer to the engine, and the downstream is in the exhaust piping after the catalytic converter. You need a special o2 sensor socket that lets you slip the wires through. Its easy for a pro to do, should be less than 15 mins, but don't know how hard it would be to do yourself...oh btw, the stock downstream sensor is 120 at norco mirsu with club dsm discount. The upstream (which is the only one that would cause major fuel consumption probs) is a little cheaper - stick with OEM parts. But don't replace that sensor for no reason - try to check out the Check engine light code because that will tell you specifically if its the o2 sensor...

Is there anyone to ask for at Norco? Turns out I need to get a O2 sensor as well since it is going to strip mine to install my exhaust.

If you used the search and found this, cool, good for you, but next time, take a chance to look at the date. This thing's 6 years old.
