Hey guys, my reverse lights stopped working the other day and I traced the problem to the switch that screws into the tranny. I ordered a replacement through a local shop and when it came in i tried to swap them out to find that the new one did not fit into my tranny, the threaded part was too long. I went to a few other stores and they all said the same part would fit. I pulled the one out of my car and tried to take a good pic so that you guys could help find a replacement. It has Pollak 23971 6hb written on it and I couldn't find anything about it online. Any suggestions? I have a '97 gs

Thank you,

-Zach

You should get BWD part number S9197.

It should be around 30 bucks.

They probably gave you one for the 4G63, as Advance Auto does not show the correct one for us unless you look up a 95-99 Neon.

EDIT: Yours does not look like a 4G63 reverse sensor, they have a eleongated tip on them.

How is it too long? Because it looks correct.

Maybe its not the sensor thats wrong, but something else.

The one pictured is the correct one out of my car that is bad. The longer one was the one that checkers ordered for me incorrectly. I will try the one you suggested.

Thank you a lot,

-Zach
