After hooking up my datalogger today i see the speed sensor IS working. I guess its my instrument pannel. I took it out and the connections look clean. After puting it back in it seems to work better but not like it should. Any ideas? Anyone have the diagram for the IP plugs? that way i could test the signal, i believe the speed sensor gets 6v, but im not sure what kind of signal the speedo expects to see or how to test it. tia!

ive experienced all types of crap with the speed sensor.. even the ring gear on the diff. that i still dont have and needs replaced.
you are talking about the reed switch.
if its the reed switch(back of clutster) symptoms can be it fluctuating weird and interminent function.

you dont really need the oem one, find a similar one and replace. if you wanna trust a oem one, o to a junk yard. its so small and "non-important" to them they would probably spare you the part.

Looking to buy 4G63

reed switch? this could possibly be my problem too. My speed sensor was replaced. and my speedometer will ocassionaly move up to about 25-30 mph. i've only seen it move one time. but it never got up to the correct speed. it just fluttered for about 2 minutes then i've never seen it do it again. my brother said it happened a couple times when he was driving it... what does the reed switch look like and is there any way to fix it? pat, if you need that speedo gear, the circular one i've got it. i'm never going to install it so i'll sell it to your really cheap.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

sorry to have taken so long man, i have allready bought the part, dont know when i'm gonna install it though. openning up the tranny for such a small piece of #$% may not be worth it unless i was replacing my clutch which i'm starting to consider.
the reed switch is this magnetic thinggy that spins and gives rotating movement to the instrument pannel.

why did you buy a ring gear anyway? did it come with the sensor?
if you need more info on that u can email me at patroklai "at" hotmail

but i guess u fixed that by now...
