Hey guys, I had lost 3rd and 4th on my GSX, so I paid quite a bit for a "used rebuilt 5-sp with only 10k on it" that I installed to find that reverse was f*cked. Now I am having to try and get my money back through the seller, PayPal or my credit card. Anyway, I now have 2 bad transmissions, one with a good reverse and the other with good 1st-5th. Is it hard breaking these open and fixing? Would it be easier/cheaper to fix the 3rd/4th shift fork or replacing the Reverse gear? Thanks

Well since this is the 2gnt board, I only now about the NV-T350... and in that case the reverse gear would be more easy to replace than shif forks, assuming the input shaft splines aren't jacked up and its just the reverse gear. In that case you'd just split the housing open and unbolt the reverse gear shaft and pull it out and replace... but the turbo trans is most likely completly different... try posting here http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=17

the Mitsu tranny is a bit more user friendly IMO. but to say it is easy? If you are familier with rebuilding a FWD trans then yes it is. IF you have never opened a FWD trans then I have a feeling you wont beable to even the the cases apart. The GSX trans is a tiny bit unique but not hard to disassemble at all if you are familier with transmissions. If your not then take it to a shop!
