The gearing in the Neon Tranny is supposed to be better. I'm pretty sure it was the gearing from a Neon that HRC used.

I paid $525 for my 03 trans with 2k miles.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)
fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

Ok i got the tranny for 300 no tax and i pulled it myself, no biggie really. Now my problem is the clutch. mine is slippin at high rpms. a guy on ebay "Mitsubishi Specialties" sells a rebuildable assy so i asked him a while back how much for just the disc? I will take mine and disassemble it, tap the flywheel and use the stock pressure plate. he tells me 130. today he tells me that he only sells the whole assy. Now why the fuck do you sell a rebuildable assy and not the disk to rebuild it.

the 355 final gear is geometrically stronger, and is less torque on launch so your chances of ripping loose are a tiny bit smaller plus it helps load the engine faster creating more heat for the turbo. A very common swap. the 02 neon trans is the best one you can get i think.

Terry
