Ok, so ive been playing wiith adjusting my clutch for the past 3 days, and yet i still can NOT loosen that freaking nut. (adjusting via rod that goes to the CMC through the fire wall).

Ive tried vice grips, the rod still turns, I tried a tiny wrench that fits the flat spots of the rod and a 12 mm wrench, just rounds crap off. WTF??? How hard is that nut to get off???

Im not sure if i am turning it the right direction, even though i try both ways. Does it tighten towards the front or rear of the car? And any other help would be nice, my tranny shifts bad and first gear grinds a little going in. Friction point is almost 3/5's the total distance, waaay too far off the floor.

Have you tried bleeding the clutch hydralics? I've never had to adjust the master cylinder rod if the clutch was properly bled and in good working order.

2 hours on a g'damn 12mm nut, what a piece of shit. the edges of the nut even stripped when I'm using a line wrench, what kind of BS is that.

EDIT:

SOLUTION: TAKE MASTER CYLINDER OUT OF CAR AND SAVE BACK AND NECK! Also, unscrew the nut from the metal cylinder that locks onto the clutch pedal, as opposed to holding the rod with vice grips and trying to unscrew the nut that way.

note to self, 12mm nut has been replaced with 13mm

So....did it work?

Curious because I have had to adjust the rod for slight differences, but never for no engagement.
