#698, "AC powerloss in relation to ATX"
Apr-17-03 05:55 PM by jsupetran

when you turn the ac on, you notice a huge loss in power with the auto-it sucks accelerating and it take forever.

if you do the final drive mod, then will that solve this powerloss?

so to those who have the final drive mod, how does the AC behave after YOU installed the final drive anyway (dish out details)?

Boostin since Aug 03.

nothing like driving with the windows down and the music low: i love hearing the turbo spool, swwwhhhttt!!!!

Honestly it made mine worst or at least I noticed it more after the mod. Was driving one day and thought something was really wrong with the car I would floor it and it would go no where and then I remembered the little green light was on .

nothing will solve the powerloss, an UDP is your best bet.
I actually dont notice the ac powerloss anymore since the UDP.

any load on the engine will cause a powerloss and the a/c system is a huge load.

the final drive mod will do nothing to fix that.
you might just have a faster car after and not care about the a/c loss.

I've used the A/C once in my car and thats because it was 95 degrees out and my girlfriend at the time was complaining having the windows down was messing up her hair so sadly I had to rollem up turn on the A/C and hope my car didn't explode.

What Mcgyvr said. An UDP is the best bet for A/C power loss. I'm like Dark Ringleader though, I don't use the fucker. I like the windows down. I've used my A/C like twice. Once to see if it worked and the next was in the ATL. traffic in July when we had to sit in one spot for 2 hours. Save you power and roll down the windows.

I hardly ever use the AC, I think its a waste of power at the cost of one who is too hot. Is it possible to completely remove the AC system? If so I would definately look into this. I don't want the thing.

People in Hell would kill for some a/ lol jk.

I hardly ever use the ac, sucks ass when I do. Except, i dunno if anyone else has noticed, but when the acs on and you slam the gas the car shifts down real hard then takes the f*ck off. Our cars already shift down pretty quick and then slip and then take off but with a/c on mines a damn beast when I do that. But yea, roll the winders down and pop the sun roof open (if you got one).

I dont have power windows so i leave mine down anyway, dont wanna roll up to some hotties on your right side and have to lean over to open the damn window! lol
