Alright, a guy in my car club has a 95 Eclipse GS Auto and he says he has takin it to 200 km/h ....maybe faster. Seems right..?
But my car, I can't and never have been able to go past 180!?!? My car goes fine and I max out 3rd gear (at about 175), then I put on overdrive and its like it has a governor on it - the rpms drop at a steady rate and the speed starts to decrese....what gives?
Not that it "really" matters....but I'm just kinda interested why this would happen.
Sounds like you got the pesky torque converter lock up. take off your valve cover and check for hamsters. also flush and replace your headlight fluid...
just joshin ya. but yea sounds like the torque converter is just locking up and putting you in granny mode.
Do the unlock mod and see if that helps at all. it will allow you to pull andpull and pull.
