hi i'm new to racing, i am going on friday up to new england dragway for the first time for street nights, and i was curious if anyone could explain to me how exactly staging works, i have the basic idea but i dont want to make any one mad if i dont stage correctly/courteously. also my ebrake doesnt work well enough for me to do an effective burnout so do i have to heat up the tires? thanks for the help guys

If it's a warm day, you drove to the track, and you're on street tires, I would skip the burnout. Most street tires get greasy when hot. If it's a cold day, or you trailered the vehicle in, or are on slicks, you should do a bit of a burnout to get the tires warm - not hot. Lower the air pressure a bit as well. Experiment with heating the tires and air pressure, though.

Wait in line, you will be waved in, and (at least at my local track) will be guided into the box. Creep in until the staging lights go. You can launch from the back of the box just before green, and if done properly, you'll leave the line with more speed. Again, experiment with your technique, driver mod is the best mod.

After both vehicles are staged, the tree starts.

You want to be leaving the line as the light goes green for best RT, don't wait for green to go.

Don't let off until you are sure you are through the trap, then slow and drive around for your timeslip.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Couldn't tell you, I've never raced it. I drive this every day, am an not quite ready for something to break.

I doubt the numbers would be impressive.
