i'll be headed to the track this sat, but i usually go with my 92eclipse stock 14's...which is a 195 tire, which is crap..but i recently bought the 17inch GSX rims which have a tire of 215/50, do you think these are going to slow me down, or give me better traction and keep me at about the same as the 14's?

you'll probably be better off with the 17's...i ran my best turbo times with my 17's...but they were lightweight 17's with 45 series H rated tires...but still far better than my old 16.s...my best 60' on 16's was 2.4x, was able to get 2.2x on the 17's while boosted...

Keep in mind that the bigger the wheel the heavier, including the rubber. How were the launches on the 14's? If you could control them and not loose traction then by all means. Why not take both and see?
I myself prefer something with a higher sidewall and average rim.
Right now its on some 16's with 225/45 sidewall. think it was 50... eh
what track you going to? Help me get the clipse up and im there ! lol

I'm going to the Cali Speedway in fontana...you should come Chamuko. I kinda had the feeling the 17's would slow me down, cuz their heavier. but they are wider 215's vs 195. The best 60' time i got on the 14's was a 2.4, guess i'll just test the 17s on Sat and see what happens.
