Well this is what I got RT: 1.220 60': 2.38 330: 6.715 1/8: 10.295 MPH: 69.02 1000: 13.396 1/4: 15.90 MPH: 86.56
So is that acceptable for the mods that I have? That was the best time that I got, the other times I would run 16.3's, with the same shitty 2.58 60' times that I had before, which is the same time I got the last time I was at the track, but I didnt have the UDP, gutted cat, or the dremeled out tb. I also had my 14's on rather than these heavy ass 17's which I think helped a lot too. I think I will go one more time with the 14's up front and see how well I do, if I can get a 2.3 60' w/ the 14's I should knock a couple of tenths off.

Oh no, I bet alan was mad. You got better times than he did that last time (I think) He ran 16.x with the tsi. Congrats on showing the guys that a 2gnt can play too. 15.9 is a really nice time.

Thanks guys! The next time I go to the track I plan on throwing the 14's back on the front and seeing what I can do. Do you guys think that with another good launch like that I can get down to 15.5? With the 17's back on I cut the same 60' times and 1/4 mile times that I did before w/ the 14's and less power. In theory Im thinking that if I ran w/ the 17's my first time I would have run a 16.7 rather than the 16.3 and that the 14's helped me to knock off 4/10's. Plus my mph didnt change which would mean that Im making the same amount of power now that I was making w/ less mods and the 14's.

That's a good time for the mods. The 14's helped your 1/4 mile time, so did the launch.
Keep the wheel spin down and you'll be fine. Also don't just run the 14's in front, run them on ALL four corners, every time you drag race at the track. There may not be any power going to your back wheels, but you still have to turn them. Why on earth would you want to waste the power needed to turn heavy rims and tires? You need that power to run faster times. For our cars, little things actually can make a big difference in performance.

15.5s is a tough thing to do. Look at the list of mods that I currently have and I'm running 15.6s. Went to the track last Wednesday night and pulled two 15.67s and one 15.64 with 2.2x 60' times. I also felt that my launch could have been much better. I'm expecting to have 2.1 60' times the next time I go out.
Power to weight ratio is a big deal as well. It takes a pretty big gain in HP (read: 5-8hp gain) to drop a tenth off your time. But then again, I've got the heavy ass GS with power everything except for seats. My car is 3065lbs with me and a 1/4 tank of gas.

your running slicks? Interesting....if i could drop my 60' times I would do even better, but on the 15.9 I was running my 25lb per rim (w/o tires) GSX rims with the crappy goodyear eagles
