Personally, there is just too much controversy surrounding the Total Seal rings. I threw away the Total Seals that came with my bottom end kit and used Hastings. They went in perfectly and sealed up well. My compression was around 195 psi after only 150 miles (8.8:1 compression ratio). I don't eat any oil and don't have any blow-by. Any engine I build in the future will have standard rings also. I don't believe that the advertised benefits of the TS rings outweigh the possibility of poor performance. I'll take the safe bet.
