#109650, "RE: what turbo is best suitable for 10.5 comp?" In response to In response to 8
I've been very happy with my GT3071 w/ 0.78 twin scroll exhaust housing. It spools fast enough for me with just 8.8:1 compression. It is noticeably slower and more linear than the previous S16G. Boost is readily available if I keep the RPM above 3000. That works well as a DD because you can keep up with traffic and never break vacuum. You'll save some money in gas and won't be obnoxious with constant BOV venting. The power is there when you need it and hides when you don't. I would certainly tread carefully with 10.5:1 and 91 octane. I'm assuming that you will have control over ignition timing as the AFX should have advanced the ignition to a level which will be scary with boost. If you are going to stay with 10.5:1 and 91 octane, I would go with an MS with fuel and ignition control as soon as possible. You won't have the luxury of being sloppy with the tuning. Then, you'll find traction to be the next major hurdle.
