You are correct, it isn't a M.H.I. turbo. Ebay/fake 16g turbo's generally say "Turbocharger" or "Evo 3/III". A really M.H.I. evo 3 16g will have a serial numer 49178-01470, other serial numers can be found here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/313105-16g-serial-numbers.html. The compressor housing will not have a spot for a boost source unless the owner has drilled it for one.

If you are using this on a 2gnt remember that most manifolds are made for a t3 flange and this would require an adapter to work. The Hahn 16g works because it uses a different exhaust housing then the standard M.H.I. turbo.
