#73753, "EGT questions..."

Well, I will be installing an autometer egt gauge and probe on my brand new bosal brospeed header. My question is, I know I should mount the probe 1-2 inches from the cylinder head, however, my new (and damn expensive) header has the pulsed air injection pipe that I feel would make a pretty badass egt port and save me the pain of drilling a port in my runner. I know the temp would prolly not be as accurate as the suggested location but would it still serve my purpose / needs with a 50 shot n20??? I assume it would still show any fluctuations properly? Just at a much lower temp??? TIA
