Good eye. Yeah. I explained why a bit better in a thread I posted about finishing the manifold - http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=49086

...but like I said, I've changed ISPs and the pictures unfortunately don't show up on that thread anymore. Basically, I used the countersink because I don't have a drill press big enough and I didn't want to get one that was big enought. ok ok, I wanted to get one but my wife would have killed me if I got the one I wanted. I'll post the missing pictures and a brief description here so you might have a better idea about what I was sayin in that old thread.

Here's a side shot. I spent a while setting it up so the angle would be just right.

I'm lining up to drill a runner right here. Notice the marks on the board, and the "dowel" bits I referred to in the other thread.

This one shows the top platform off so I could drill the pilot hole. Notice that I already started the cut with the countersink bit while the rig was assembled. It would go far enough in so that I knew where the hole would be centered, but it just wouldn't go in all the way without drilling a pilot hole.

This one is a closeup of the pilot hole that I had to drill.

The countersink would go all the way through after getting the pilot drilled.

Get all the bosses in there and stick the rail on it....

...and glue em in.
