So I took the 2g to Island dragway last sunday for a little test and tune with the AEM EMS. The car was completely tuned on the street a couple nights before by myself. So I wanted to put this tune to the test.
Everything that could have gone wrong did. I had to learn how to launch all over again using the AEM 2-Step and had to find the sweet spot with the settings. After running a 18.0@108mph and 17.0@109mph I was ready to give up. I decided to giveit one more shot but had one of those gut feelings. I change the 2-step yet again but this time it yielded me a 1.7 60'. I banged out second then third and went to go into fourth and got stuck. I tried to go into 4th again but somehow managed to go into 2nd gear and ended up spinning the car to 11500 rpms.
That run yielded me a 12.5 @ 97 mph. That run also made me blow all my intake rockers and lifters but one. I replaced the rockers and lifter and did a comp test which yielded 120 115 130 125. So after 2k on this engine and 6 track passes, I have to pull the head. To top things off, the tune from the other night was not the one I ended up with on the track. Some reason boost dropped from 25psi to 22psi which put me in another row on my fuel map causing me to run rich.
Car has alot more in it I am sure. After the head gets fixed, going to dump in some race gas and up the boost to 30-32psi.
