That sounds very much like a blown head gasket. If it only gets hot when you rev or drive the engine, that means pressurized air from the combustion chamber is leaking into the coolant passages through the blown headgasket. That 1200+ degree air is basically boiling your coolant on contact.

Time for a new headgasket. Is there any dark coloration to the coolant at all? Or any silvery shiny look to your oil?
