Well actually they don't as long as the maintenance is kept up the stock blocks can handle upwards of 450hp. Some have managed 500hp on a stock bottom end. Well here again, they are correct, Evo 1-3 and '92.5-99 turbo DSM do share the same motors (7 bolt), the US motors just have minor differences in terms of injectors, intake, turbo, and power output otherwise they are the same. 6 Bolt DSMs use the same motor as the Galant VR4. Remember DSMs were made solely for the North American Market with few exported to Europe and even fewer to Japan. I often tell people I had the "evo" motor in my Galant VR4 just because the average non-enthusiast has no idea what I'm talking about when I say "4g63". I don't even play with AWD anymore, just RWD, however I could use it though for the winter time for when I actually want to go up to the mountains where I need it. At least I won't have to deal with pos Mitsubishi fwd/awd transmissions and transfercases anymore or until I get another GVR4.
