This is the only pic I have left of the car, er... the engine. old garbage by todays standards but this was the car that really got me into performance. I've had many other turbo cars but in the end I guess I'm still a MOPAR man.
90' dodge shadow ES
2.5L turbo Chrysler engine-common block Swapped in 555 manual tranny oliver rods JE pistons "Torque Monster" cam with roller rocker conversion FWD performance stage 5 ECU -added later on- Chevy 2.02 x 1.60 valves fitted to head Garret .57 trim T3/T4 on log manifold whole lot of porting done to head
In the end it made 371 HP and a wopping 419 Ft.lbs torque at the wheels, not the highest numbers by today's standards, but 9 years ago when I was just getting my hands dirty that was still considered high for the average joe building his own 4 cyl.
I never got to race it built unfortunatly, got a 14.5 E.T. out of it stock, motor mounts ripped out of the chassis on the way to the track after we half ass tuned it on the dyno and I was headin to the the track. Now its just another memory sittin in an old friends back yard where he might do something with it someday.
The money I made selling this car actually later became the down-payment on my 99 eclipse. Deffinatly miss it though, I really learned alot from this car.
Creative thinking? Ingenuity? Hell, It's just an obsession!
