What I don't understand is how a 900 AWHP car only goes 10.3. My brother's car only put down like 660 and went 9.4's. It weighed something a little over 3200 (class weight requirement), and the 3kgt is something like 3600, right? Hell, even if it was 3800 lbs, theoretically, that should be a 10 flat pass if it had the same HP as my brother's car (the 100 lb = 0.1 sec rule of thumb). 240 more HP should be something like 2 seconds faster, imo. That's like adding a 240 shot of nitrous to a car. It's fast, none the less, and I'm not trying to downgrade the world records, I just don't understand how a car near the 1000 AWHP mark wasn't pushing a 9-flat.

The AWD's have a weak t-case and transmission, which is why it took soooo many years to beat the old record of 10.7. The cars do weight a lot (3800) but Supra weight a lot to. Large twin upgrades don't work to well on VR4's cause they don't spool fast enough and not many people shell out the $ for custom single turbo manifolds and piping but we have a couple people using GT-42's now. Stroker kits are being released now so that will help out.
I should also mention that the 10.3 run was done at the National Gathering in Indiana or Michigan (I forget) and he drove his car from NY to the meet. He said once he got home he would push the car harder and break stuff to join the other car in the 9's. There isn't much support from companies w/ our cars either. A year ago maybe 5 people were in the 10's and now there are at LEAST 25 and that list is growing by the month. Basically anyone won get EVO 16G's w/ the right fuel system can put down over 600AWHP and break into the 10's. My friend had 14b's on his VR4 and ran mid 11's. He has now switched to twin 20G's and put down over 700AWHP!
