#91253, "Replacing drivers side axle, got a question"

I just purchased the drivers side axle assembly. Will I have to drain the tranny fluid to replace it? I had printed out the CV Boot installation instructions, and my thinking would be yes I would need to drain it. I just wanted to ask you guys just to confirm so I dont have my garage floor full of tranny fluid. Thanks.
