as far as superchargers vs. turbos...

ride in both, like I did... Turbo H22 and a JRSC H22... both local 5th gen prelude owners. They ran very similar times (low 13's).

I'd rather additional power throughout the entire powerband, as a supercharger can give. There are times, in a turbo, when you're off-boost and wishing you weren't. The JRSC felt like it had a much bigger engine in it, had the raw low-end torque of a V6, and VTEC was improved, but wasn't as pronounced. The turbo, on the other hand, seemed to retain the crappy low-end, but the high end was like VTEC on steroids.

The powerdrain by the supercharger was quickly overcome by boost at 1800 RPM. My butt-dyno definitley couldn't tell there was any type of drain. Turbo lag, though, was apparent.

This was in a Honda, of course, which has little low-end to begin with. Our engines may feel different. From this experience, I think a supercharger would be a great thing to look into, since we could spare 15 ft-lbs or so right off the line... only to add 80+ HP in the high end.

BTW... if you can adjust a NA car to handle a turbo... then you can adjust a NA car to handle a supercharger. Boost is boost.
