#98514, "...another crank, crank, and crank no start thread"
Yeah, so here we go...
I figured I would solve this problem without having to post, but I'm getting tired of it. I'm not one for just buying bunches of parts instead of troubleshooting down to a particular fault, so I've done bunches of research on the subject.
I found and repaired a few random wires that were burned/melted by the egr of course. If I turn the key to on position, the fuel pump will not prime. When I start to crank, I hear it turn on for a brief second and turn back off. Both the coil pack and fuel pump will flash 10 volts for a second then drop back to zero. If I jumper both the relay connectors so that the fuel pump is constantly on and coil pack has full voltage...car still does not start.
Took a wire out and put a spare plug in it, grounded to the valve cover, and didn't have any spark. Checked timing, looked good. I really feel like it's some dumb short or ground somewhere, but I just can't seem to figure it out. I know there are better wiring gurus then myself, and you guys will be able to tell me exactly what wires to test etc...fyi, I have a 95.
I guess I'm done typing now, I'll answer more ?'s as they arise. I'm just tired of missing my car...minus the two weeks in January when it was -45 degrees, I haven't driven my car since blowing it up in August. Summer is all of 3 months here in my lovely home of Alaska, and it's passing me by...end of rant.
