Both trannys are made by New Venture and should be NV-T350's. The major difference between the two is that your factory eclipse/talon tranny has a hydraulic clutch bell housing and a 3.94 final drive and the neon tranny has a cable style clutch bell housing and a 3.55 final drive ratio. As for the weight issue I really never noticed a weight difference as I wasn't looking at the mod as a weight saver and more as beneficial performance mod.
