#5418, "pretty good night yesterday - new best MPH and 60'" In response to In response to 2
There will be racing at NED up until the end of this month, then it is a long wait until April.
Last night I did not get many runs, but didn't need many. First run was a major bog on the launch, and a 2.31 60' with a 15.6 sec run, but at 91.63mph, new best again.
I knew I just did not give it enough gas, so the next round I had to try something different. So I ended up giving it a lot more throttle and I eased out the clutch more; so more gas and a little slip of the clutch. The car made no tire noise off the line and I hit a 2.222 60' and a 15.4 sec run.
The next two runs were identical, but on the last run I hit a 15.4 sec run again, with a best 60' time of 2.213 (in 40-45 degree weather!) and a 91.64 mph, so that one run had the best mph and best 60' on these tires so far.
I just had to learn how to launch on these tires, and the last three runs were 45 deg F or less and I hit my best 60' times!
This is showing once I got the launch down, the only thing left is tuning and this this will run much faster.
