Paint looks good but the whole scheme just isnt my flavor. It looks too extreme for me with the hood/fenders and front bumper. I am just not a fan of the Bomex kits period.

A+ for the paint though, I like the nice white look.

like the looks of it, but i agree it is a lil too extreme for me too bt still looks really nice. Is it me or is that a wing like off an integra type r or 99-00 si??? since u went with the extreme look with the "supra" hood u should have done supra tails that would have been cool. Either way nice looking car man just get some new rims and it will be sweet as hell

That's one awkward sitting wing. I wonder how you open and close your hatch with it on.

It looked better black/dark because then you couldn't notice all those holes as easily.

looks like a toy car..... and well.. meh, its not an insult, but its not a compliment either. Lose the wang, put a stock wing on there (either one) or go wingless. The hood scoop........no comment. As for the front, BuddyClub 2 is the only aftermarket one that doesnt look out of place and I think it'd flow well with the hood. You can then toss the fenders into the scrap heap beside the rear bumper too.

I know your asking for opinions, and Im not going to sugar coat mine for you.. you basically did everything the the exterior of that car that I wouldnt do, it looks to clusterfucked, too busy, too....ricey.

BC2 front, the sides are ok, stock rear, lose the scoop and wang, then your car would look eleventy billion times better in MY OPINION, YMMV

*goes outside and hugs his STOCK LOOKING 2gnt*

The only thing I like on the car are the headlights and the hood. That bodykit is a bit too much for me but to each his own. As long as you like it that's what counts.

i bouht the wing off of ebay, the guy said it was a '98 eclipse turbo wing' and i was like WTF when i got it in ... the bomex is extreme, if i could go back id got the bc2 kit, its clean as hell but i got this now so ill stick with it, i dont wanna go thru the trouble all over again. it is extreme looking with all the vents and curves and shit, but as you can tell i dont like looking like everyone else, so hey it is fine for me ... just deciding what rims to go with next, 19 inch something, any ideas and prices for me guys?

We could have a picnic on your front bumper. Sweet. Good effort, bad kit.

I also think your car would look better with some thicker rubber on those wheels.

17s are too small for the wheel wells unless its slammed with a bit thicker tire. go bigger or lower but with that protruding front you don't wanna get to low. Also why did u bother changing the color without doing the jams? Ruins the whole purpose.

i personally get alot of respect and compliments on my car mostly cause its clean. No one considers it Rice just cause its HALF foreign. I dont think anyone here really means to bash you, just give you some constructive criticism. The fact that your car is the epidemy of Rice doesnt mean you cant enjoy it and take what we say for a grain of salt.

Some people will like your car, but those people are few and far between. My personal opinion is....

Why the hell would you do this to a car that you plan on selling (you said your new ride would be here in spring). You just obliterated its resale value. Good luck w/ the money pit. Nice paint btw. Lose everything else.

why would i sell my car? its paid off, i also have a 97 explorer, wont sell it either, just add another ride, dont see why people pay all this money for their ride, then when its paid off you can get less than half of what you've spent

Dude. To each his own. If you like it, that's all that matters, but you have to understand that extreme body modifications like yours (and even Mikes with the vintage carnie ride metal flake paint job) are always going to catch hell from those who bought the car because it looks great the way it is.

The DSM community has long been known for being ripe with sleepers and otherwise unexpected monsters. The DSM reputation came from beautifully styled cars packing more power under their hoods than was expected from a lowly four-banger. Even the cleanest, stock-appearing DSM has a subtle, almost exotic look to it. When those of us who live by those rules see a DSM that has had all manner of fiberglass and urethane odds and ends bolted, molded, or glued to it that alters those already harmonious lines and, furthermore, do so in a way which promises added functionality in terms of cooling or aerodynamics, yet fails to deliver on both counts miserably, it makes the rest of us look bad. I dunno. It's just the way we see things.

I look at all the work you've done to your car and it just boggles my mind, man. Those notches in the fenders - what do they do aside from generate drag and turbulence down the side of the car. They do nothing for the style due to their extreme size and abrupt ending. Then there's the multitude of vents in that Bomex front clip. Sure, it's the Bomex kit (or a decent knock-off), but what good are all those vents? I mean, it's got extractor vents just in front of the wheel wells. Between the leading edge of that thing and the wheel well, there is nothing generating any heat to be extracted! Is it intended to cool the horn or something? If anything, it actually helps direct airflow away from your front brakes, which stand to need the cooling air more than your radiator. Speaking of the radiator, when air hits it as it goes down the road, it's going to spread out and try to find a way around it, rather than through it, so here you have all these ports and vents and whatnot and I wouldn't be surprised to see your operating temps actually go UP as a result of installing this thing.

I guess I'm just saying, some of us see a car like this:

And it makes us smile. It is low, it is sleek, it means business. This is a car which rolled off the lot being sporty and nimble, and the owner took that canvas and improved upon it. He lowered it for better high speed handling. He installed a turbosystem for more power. He's obviously concerned about his engine, as he's got the instruments in his pillar to monitor critical engine parameters. He's kept his car subtle, clean and it gives off an almost ominous, sinister look from any angle. The back end of his car is all fucked up too, but I bet he could totally play it off that he went into a corner too hot at open track day and spun into a tire barrier, rather than "Some bitch in a SUV didn't stop in time."

Like I said, to each his own. It's just that, to me, and others like me, a body kit is only going to attract more attention to your car and, unless you've got one hell of a powerplant in there to back it up, it comes across as trying to hard to be something fast when you aren't.

I hope you don't take this personally, as BELIEVE ME, I've done my fair share of super-bashing others with much, MUCH worse installations. It's obvious that you care about the way your car looks and that things are done right. If you're more interested in the looks of the car and you like what you've done to it, that's all I need to know. Use your experience for the powers of good and help other people who want to install kits on their car do it right. No more zip ties and rattle can primer. We've got people here like you who see these sort of projects through to completion, haters be damned. Fuck the naysayers.

Anyway, just thought I would offer up my opinion to go with my seemingly pointless shit-talking in this thread. I'm not hating on you or your car. I just come from another school of thought.

Keep up the good work, man. Never give up.

No one is trying to bash you I dont think. You posted pics, so people are going to give you their input on what they think of it. You have to learn how to deal with it. If you didnt wanna hear anything about it, you shouldnt have posted pics. When my car was just getting finished last year when I sprayed it green and I posted pics, no one liked it, but hell I didnt give a fuck cuz I did (well sorta). Then I painted it again blue, posted pics and some people liked and some disliked. Everyone has their own opinion.

You are right about one thing, no matter if your car is stock, highly modded under the hood, or just a show looking car, kinda like yours, all the outsiders look at all these cars as Rice burners. Doesnt matter whats done to it, doesnt matter if you beat it heads up in a quarter mile, place higher in a show, fact is, we still get looked at as rice burners, even if the people dont say it to your face, its what they think.

I think mainly people are calling your car ricey, because its too much. There is just too many holes and extreme curves in it, thats it. If you like it, thats all that counts.

Keep your head up kid, sheesh...
