Here is my problem. When I go for just a normal drive, a lot of pressure accumulated under my valve cover. So much so that my valve cover breather will be launched off the valve cover if I boost at all, and oil shoots past my oil cap. When I take off the oil cap, hot smoke comes out.
So far this is what I have done to find/correct the problem: -Replaced Oil Cap -Valve Cover Gaskets replaced -Replaced PCV Valve (Just tested it, works fine) -Replaced breather filter (Just tested it, works fine) -Did a Compression Test (150 across on 8.0:1 toplines, forgot to open throttle during test, don't know how much that would effect that) -I get 22 in/hg vacuum during deceleration and 19 in/hg at idle -Brand new Evo III 16g -No smoke coming out my tail pipe -My Evo 3 16g can't even get 10 psi untill 5000rpms -I have done boost leaks checks and fixed LOTS of leaks with NO improvement in spool -My car wants to die when I put in the clutch at a stoplight and catches itself at about 500rpms before rising back up to 750rpms
Please help guys, this pressure is REALLY worrying me. It seems that it would almost HAVE to be rings or valve seals, but my spark plugs aren't oil fouled and I have descent compression and healthy vacuum.

Considering who's asking, I'm going to concur about the rings being shot. It's the worst thing that could happen, so it's gonna happen to Andy.
I know I saw something on FAQ back in the day mentioning what might cause the dipstick to pop out, so you might want to check that out. If your rings are shit, you're only seeing 10psi at the gauge because the turbo is pressurizing the entire engine.

I think it's my PCV valve even though it tests well. It seemed to have an air leak out during the boost leak test. I removed the vacuum line and capped it off and I'm going to see if I still am getting leaks. I also got leaks at the BISS o-ring and injector seals during my boost leak test today so I'm going to see how the turbo pulls after I do those.

Well, you see, it's great that you're checking for boost leaks, but thats not what your problem is right now. See if you can buy/borrow a leak down tester and see how that goes. THAT is what you should be using.

Actually if fixing all my boost leaks puts my spool in a reasonable level for once, then cylinder leakage would be even more ruled out. My breather hasn't blown out in awhile but I'm still getting oil on the valve cover. Im thinking it might be a crack. It seems like I'm just dancing around the sure fire way to know, and the reason for that is I AM. I'm not ready to take the possibility of my engine being shot yet. I realize that kind of disqualifies me for any further tech posts so don't respond if you are bitter about this in the least. I will keep everyone posted.

Somewhere along the line, those bolts on the valve cover had all loosened. ALL were incredibly loose, and some were backed out almost completely. I tightened those suckers down, got an OEM oil cap, did a double gasket for a better seal and whala! No more oil on my valve cover! I just didn't even bother to check since I replaced the gasket less than 300 miles ago. Basically, I had stripped out those valve cover threads. I retapped them and stuck deeper bolts in them, but I was still very conservative on the torque I used (AKA, none) because I was scared of doing the same thing again. I am a permanewb.
