#6993, "Spring is loose on strut but all bolts are tight, WTF"

Aiight, I've been riding on stock struts and H&R sport springs (1.5" drop) the ride is bouncy and sucks, anyway I put Tokico blues on and the springs can basically spin completely around the strut with the cap and piston nut as tight as can be, I mean it's threaded all the way, 100%. This is with the strut OFF the car, when the strut/spring assembly is reinstalled and the weight of the car is on the setup I'm assuming the spring is tightly seated, although there is no way to check.

Is this normal? Iamnotwhoiam, said he had the same problem in a current post, anyone else experience this?

I have Prokits on Tokico Blues and my rear ones were kinda like that before I installed them. With the weight of the car they were fine....been over a year now. Just make sure that they are properly seated on the perch before you install them all the way.

Aiight, yeah I made sure the springs were seated correctly before letting the car down on 'em. I just needed to know I was doing things right and wasn't riskin' my neck driving around with something all F'd up, thanks peeps.

same problem i have in the rear left. it is annoying as hell because the springs makes this clunking noise on the bottom perch . somebody here suggested i put a piece of garden hose around the part that touches the perch. it deadened the sound a bit but it is still there! i will pay money to get it fixed. the guy who installed it says its a bad spring or shock. he says i should just go back to stock - he will reinstall it free. but i love the way it looks now..even though i still scrape all over the place.

it is funny how you need to plan trips when you are lowered. thank god i have another car.

Hehe....I knnow what you mean. I have a set route around town I take when going to places. I had to learn where my car could and couldn't go. Yes it's a paine sometimes, but I could never go back to stock.
