Well I've been working on this the past several weekends, and thought i'd share some pics of the all the wiring for the MS, and the IAT and coolant sensor locations.

GM Coolant sensor mounted in stock T-stat housing, and wired to loom:

GM Intake Air Temp sensor, tapped into the EGR hole, and counter sunk so the tip of the sensor is more exposed inside the mani:

Here is some wiring at the battery for the MS power, and redid my fan relay wiring while i was in there:

This is the stock injector harness that I spliced. I used Male/Female connectors just in case I wish to re-connect the stock wiring:

I left 2 loops of wiring here, one is the injector driver wires, just if i need easy access to the wiring to add resistors, or whatever. The other harness there is the Ignition driver wires, and I ran 3 spare wires here also, just in case I wish to add more features later on.

Just a pic of all my wires. Getting the harness all ready..

Oooo look at all the wires! This is fun

This is where I drilled a 1" hole in the firewall, passenger side, close to the stock wire harness.

Pic of the loomed up complete harness running next to the stock harness, and into the car.

The complete wire harness on the pass side. I don't know exactly where I will be putting the MS, but it will prob go under the dash there, prob to the left by the console. I'll prob run a DB9 cable to it, so I dont have to mess around plugging it in all the time.

When I decide to Megasquirt (not a question of if), I will need all kinds of help, I can see that now. There's no way in hell I'm going to be able to do that shit by myself. Especially because I am electronic/wiring/ems retarded. That is some good looking stuff by the way.

Eh its really not that hard, I just took a lot of extra time to think things out and ran more wires than I really had to..just for future upgrades. I do wiring every day at my work, so the day job helps in this case I'm really anal about wiring, and I wanted it to be nice and neat, and "stock" like hehe..

I want my megasquirt. I Just need to read a little more. (all I've been doing for the past 2 days ) Man, If I lived close to where you are at, I'd pay you to wire mine in, I hate dealing with wires and such. But it's all for a great purpose.

I started my wire up tonight. Got as far as drilling the hole and RTVing my "grommet" in place. Planning on roughing in the wires for the MS and Zt tomorrow night. I was thinking though, I like this idea here:

And I've decided I want to do the same, but is there any reason why? (Maybe this was mentioned elsewhere and I forgot or missed it.) Is there any reason to keep the stock IAT (other than CEL)? Why not just install the new sensor in the old location? Seems to me it would be more accurate to the temperature of the air actually being ingested by the cylinders. Air rushing past the throttle plate is going to be coming right in from the filter element (or turbo) and might be slightly cooler than air already in the plenum. Maybe it's such an insignifigant difference that it doesn't matter and I'm textbook much ado about nothing here, but I'm curious, ya know?

Finally, with the EGR blocked off like that, how do you think the IAC will react? MS going to be able to rectify? I'm thinking IAC might try to choke off the idle when it's looking for EGR flow. Of course, I'm really tired too. I should have gone to bed hours ago.
