OK so Heres my problem. I have a Stock 97 Eclipse GS and I think the clutch needs to be adjusted. How would i check this? When im at stop signs and the clutch is to the floor as hard as i can press it and if i let off the brake the car goes forward. Is my clutch just out. ITs also hard going through the gears. Please help. also whats a good stage 2 flywheel package for the right money.

If you have a GS, then you're in the wrong section of the forum. GS came with a New Venture (NV) T-350 transmission. Chances are good that you have a modular clutch as well. Search for South Bend Clutch and see what others have to say. Good vendor who makes custom clutches for these trannies.

As for the pedal play, look up under the dashboard behind the pedals. Chances are good your master is leaking on you.

All our clutches come with a flywheel. your stuck buying one. If you dont like SBC prices then you can look into clutchmasters. I think their clutches range around 800.00

There are actually some pretty good choices at lesser prices. You can even build your own clutch if you like.

Check out this link. It may be helpful;

I think we should take all of this massive amounts of clutch info and either do a write up or make a thread sticky that explains about the enormous amount of options that has to do with clutches. For example I am still confused about how you can eliminate the modular clutch setup. From the links that you posted it seems as if some people were trying to get the clutch from a srt-4 to work. If this really is an option with some machine work I would be willing to try it. It would be nice to see all of the different options available. Just my $.02.

Damn, not enough time in the day, lol. I'm going to pull the tranny within the next couple of weeks here. I'll take some pics and try to get a write up on non modular vs modular installation. You are correct that there are quite a few options available. IF my current one works out, I'll have a 2500lb PP set-up for right around $300. If not, I'll smoke the crap out of it on the track !!

Just a quicky to see the differences. It just seems that we have a question on this every couple of weeks. I hope this helps.
