So I figured this weekend would of been a perfect time to replace my A604 internal filter, gasket, o-ring, and fluid. Considering I believe the car to have all of the above never changed before. And with 142k+ miles on the car, and the gasket beginning to leak a tiny bit it is time. So I went to Autozone to purchase my filter, o-ring, and gasket kit for $9.99. Then off to Wal-Mart to get my 6 quarts of MOPAR ATF+4 transmission fluid.
When I got to the auto section I searched, and searched and could not find the fluid. So I asked the employees and they told me they were out of stock. So I went to another Wal-Mart... Same story, so then I checked two different auto parts stores in hopes of being lucky... Nothing... So I went home a little confused and called up the remaining two Wal-Marts in the area, none of them carry it anymore. So I did some research and found out Wal-Mart no longer carries this brand of fluid... So I then checked Summit Racing and JEGS online with no luck. So unless there is another place I'm not looking for this stuff. It looks as if we go back to the stealership....

Hmm... I have heard from a lot of people on and off this board to use MOPAR only! Your the first I have heard that has said valvoline will work, can others chime in on this and confirm or deny?

atf 4 is atf 4. no difference on manufacturer. as long as its atf 4, its fine.
you're confusing the fluid requirements you've "heard" about with the manual tranny. The tried and true fluid for that is the MOPAR nvt350 fluid and non-other.

OK, so the automatic transaxle can use anything that says ATF+4 on it? It is ONLY the manual transaxle that uses the MOPAR Specific nvt350 fluid?.... I wonder how the hell I got that mixed up?

Damn, but I'll check my Walmart tonight when I pick up Deth Magnetic. I used work for Walmart when I was with my ex. and I can say the employees in certain Dept. are lazy asses, if its not the shelf and you ask for assitance they're supposed go in the back room and get it/ ask their sup. about the item. Resaon, why they don't its because it takes up their time to do there work on the floor. I've done alot of running, to help customers plus do my normal Inventory stuff.
Try, Advance auto ATF+4 its 2-3 bucks on the bottle its says compared to valvoline. I used this before I went to the MOPAR brand.
I'm pretty sure they still carry it they sell Mopar Filters etc.
