The stock fpr regulates the fuel pressure to 47psi. If the pressure goes above 47psi, it opens up and lets the pressure vent back to the tank. In our systems (or mine anyway .. you have the fully adjustable fmu, no?), the path to the tank is blocked by the fmu. if the fmu is seeing boost, it will not open enough for the excess pressure to vent, thus increasing fuel pressure. Since mine's a nonadjustable 12:1 ratio fmu, it adds 12lbs. of pressure for every 1lb of boost.

I'm so bad, i should be in detention.

Yes, I have the vortech SFMU. I should have asked how does the stock FPR interact with an adjustable FMU? I was told that I should disconnect the vacuum line from the stock FPR, since I have an adjustable FMU. If I do that, won't the pressure of the stock FPR be a constant 47psi?

i dunno....

Here's the deal with the SFMU...
You can keep using your stock fpr if you wish.. or you can toss it because the SFMU allows you to regulate idle fuel pressure. So it acts as a fpr/fmu.. But if you want to use the Stock fpr you can still use the sfmu by putting it inline to the fpr just as you would with a regular fmu..Only thing is now you cant "lower" your fuel pressure below stock.. You can only raise the idle fuel pressure..

Hope that helps !

Now the $!000000 question is that how do I replace my stock FPR? I have a 1995 2GNT and the FPR is on the fuel rail! Would getting a new fuel rail solve this problem...
