467, noise from FUEL PUMP from STAR KIT

How loud is this fuel pump supposed to be with the rear seats out? The whirring noise is beginning to be really irritating! And is it normal for the whirring noise to change tones (very slightly but noticeable if you concentrate and listen for it) whenever throttle is depressed a bit?

How loud is it supposed to be? I can hear if from outside the car as well...

ine's the same way. That's the way it's supposed to be. These pumps are designed to flow MUCH GREATER amounts of fuel as compared to the stocker, which was designed for quietness. With the walbro, volume wasn't an issue, only flow. I can hear mine from outside my car, as well, but you'll eventually get used to it and tune it out, just like all the rest of us. The sound changing when you depress the throttle is totally normal, because when the throttle is depressed, you are basically venting fuel pressure through the injectors, which the pump has to build back up.

Oh well, I guess the whirring noise can be our trademark sound (at idle) =)
