14, Need to find out about the 550 injectors and S-AFC.

does anyone know how to get ahold of Chris M.? Shawn Zagorce who i bought my kit off of said he has talked to him about how well his car is doing with them. I'd like to get them myself, but is he the only one with the larger injectors and an AFC? i know you got the AFC, but no injectors yet...right wyatt? Anyway, if any of you guys got any good stuff on this setup, let me know. I am basically concerned of it running too rich in off boost periods at high RPMs and how well it does at idle.

Hey Jason,

The 550 is as large as you can go with the AFC and our stock ecu, but it will work. For idle, the AFC allows you to adjust settings from +/- 50%. I also addresssed the situation by turning down my fuel pressure at idle. You will need an adjustable fpr which I assume you already have. It addresses your concerns about off boost idle by having two settings. The S-AFC has bot a high and low throttle setting so one can be set for light throttle off boost conditions and the other for full throttle boost conditions. It has been working well for me so far. I currently have 400cc's, but hope to get some 550's in this Christmas when I return home if I have time. The 550 is as large as we can go because we have saturated injectors. To go larger, we would need peak and hold injectors, but these will not work in our car without some sort of ecu setup that understands them which our stock ecu doesn't.

Hey Chris,

Does this mean that HRC uses a superior form of "ECU help" to run the 625cc injectors that they are using? Superior, meaning more versatile than a S-AFC though their programmable engine computer system . I know HRC likes those 625 injectors better than the 550's.

You hit it on the head Jason. HRC is using the Accel DFI to run larger injectors. You can get it from them preprogrammed as well when you buy their staged kits. It comes with the Stage V with the larger injectors. I don't know how they sell it alone. It works as a piggyback setup. As in, you still have your stock ecu, and the Acell takes all the signals from it and alters the values given. Which is what the S-AFC does as well, but not as complex. The AFC doesn't take into account other factors that a true ecu management system can, or have multiple programs that you can switch between. It is much more expensive to use the Accell though, and you can find a lot of other programmable systems on the market as well if you look around. This is a big step to make. As in the $1000+ range and a lot of tuning. But a lot of tuners claim by going to stand alone and and piggyback ecu setups, they gain a lot of extra power, better spoolup, driveability, and mpg. It's a lot of work and money, but the gains are high as well. For the money though, I think the AFC is the best place to start.

19, I just talked to RC and they said the biggest injector they make for our cars is a High Resistant Saturated 440 (more)

He also said if I want 550 injectors I have to get them threw MSD and I have to get my duty cycle reprogramed because the car will be to rich at idel and won't run. Please help guy's I need to know what the biggest injectors I can run for my Turbo 420A. I'm ordering the Vortech Adjustable FMU and I already have an AFC and I just need to know what injectors I need?? Thanks

hmm... Duty cycle re-programmed? I don't know if that is even possible with our ECU. No one seems to know how to reprogram it.
I believe they are refering to midifying the flow sensor, we do this by using the S-AFC, I need to do more research too. As far as I know we can use 550's with our ECU, we jut sneed to adjust them donw leaner with the AFC. I think that is what they are saying.

21, 550 injectors..

I'm sure we can use them Wyatt, but I guess the big question is if we can use them with merely a SAFC. Thus far, in our little world of bigger injectors in 420a's, ONLY Chris and Armond have 440's and of course HRC using the 625's with that reprogrammable cpu system.

I would like an answer on this for sure!
