Ok so I been lurking the forums for years now, reading, learning, harassing, ect. Last summer I pieced together a turbo kit running 15g Turbo, on stock internals and used missing link as a fcd, a test run with fuel cut ended everything. So, since then i been buying part for part to do a complete build. So this thread will be my slow moving process. All i need is main and rod bearings and machine work done. Thinking of getting a OBX lsd since people on neons.org have luch but not sure yet.

All parts:
CP Pistons 10.5:1 .040over

Eagle rds std.

Crane 14 Turbo Grind got these real cheap

OBX intake manifold. Dont bash. I just like it.

Cometic HG

Fidanza Cam Gears, UDP, VOLVO t3 Adapter

Airtex water pump, BC spring+Retainers, and PEP 1mm valves

Magnecor wires, Aeromotive FPR, SBI guides, hallman boost controller

ARP Main and Head

4g63 ALuminum Rad. and slim fans. Need to modify

Gates Blue TB, Mopar P lifters,PCI mechanical Tensioner

Oil cooler adap and oil cooler

Megasquirt V3 mounted in airbag

Before it went

You still need bearings? I have this FedEx bag in my garage full of new 420A bearings I never used. Not sure if they're all there or if they're oversized, but they're yours if you want 'em.

Let me know. I'll try to get pics tonight.

Gracias pero ,I dont live in PR. Im out here in MASS., alittle update I finally pulled the engine out and bought One step paint to paint engine bay black.Having trouble removing balancer,I tried using a cheap pulley puller but ended stripping the center bold applying pressure. So I have to go rent Chrystler puller

Also finished my throttle body from a Crown vic,had seized bearing now its like butter.65mm

Also i figured out that the fittings on the valve cover and thermostat housing are pressed in. So I will be welding VC shut and welding two fitting running to Catch can to ventilate. Also a fitting on the stat housing.

Really solid build man, keep it up. Hopefully you get more pics up soon

No need to weld them if you do not have to. A 3/8" NPT tap works perfectly for the thermostat (not sure about the VC).

Nice, but you need a different radiator. Sell the one you have to the 4g63 guys on dsmtuners.com classifieds.
There's some Use the all metal two row radiators from radiatorbarn.com or fluidyne for the 420a.

Mishimoto, will be making radiators for the 420a sometime in the future.

How come I need a different radiator? As for goals ill be happy with 350hp but hitting 400 would be nice. I also pulled mostly everything off the motor, all that is left now is the sprocket infront of the oil pump and the crank. Some pics

Piston and rod 3

Piston 4

Reason why you need the proper 420a radiator is because the upper/lower hoses dont match up.

If you something more creative try the Honda 1/2 radiator.

I got my welder to block off the original holes and got -16an bungs welded where the stock 420a necks are placed. Ill post pic when I pick it up.

u can use the 4g63 radiator if u make ur own solid piping to it. thats what i did as well. i picked up a 1g fluidyne off CL for dirt cheap and fabbed it to fit. it doesnt line up properly with the lower mounts either but u can move them.

Ok so I have been working but havent had time to post anything. Motor was put in yesterday. Everything seems to be going smoothly. Now I have to start wiring megasquirt and pray it actually works since I soldered everthing. I checked all clearences plastigauged everything and double checked. Also gonna run crank scrapper from 420agreenvilleSC. The only thing i couldnt find was if the eagle rods went in a certain direction i faced the etched number towards exhaust.

Now for the pics

3g Rear sway bar with lca and links

Are the lines running off your valve cover for a oil catch can? And did you have any problems with you obx intake mani with the throttle body bolting up? One of my bolts stripped the threads

Awesome build I must say! I noticed that your glove box is black, is that oem or did you paint it? If so, what paint did you use?

the obx manifold is a pain. But i love it because it looks good.I had to tap new holes for my throttle body they all seem to hold nice and tight. I had to fix the injector seats and reweld the fuel rail brackets in the correct angle.

That there is the duplicolor vynil fabric paint. I have used krylon fusion on the latest panels i painted and i like it better. The duplicolor holds up better but doesnt dry smooth and needs armorall all the time. The krylon is smooth and matches perfect and easy for quick touch ups.

Update Update Update.
Car is still not done. And ps Megasquirt gives me a headache.

Everything is wired up ready to go but my prehistoric laptop has a bad port,so I bought a usb to db9 wire. Also I got a new ms unit built by dave who's been helping me out. I also redid my downpipe and finally made my wastegate dump fit perfectly.
Any who the motor looks good.

I'm not to fond of the obx intake or s/s hoses on the front of the car, but to each his own. The build though looks excellant.

So everyone I finally got the my eclipse running preety close to perfect. So everyone knows, I do not recommend 10:1 compression unless you seriously have knock deterrents. Its finally a relief to know that the car actually runs well. Thanks for all the information members have provided and this site.
