108054, what else would be best to 225whp Posted by 98eclipse_rs-t, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Hey I'm new to the forums but am having trouble with my fuel set up for my turbo as in how should it be set and tuned for 225hp.
right now i have the current parts:
log style SlowBoy Racing exhaust manifold greddy type r bov greddy turbo timer Stainless Steel Downpipe from Slowboy racing Slowboy racing 420a front mount intercooler kit tial wastegate t3/t4 garrett turbo walbro 255 high pressure fuel pump fuel lab Fuel pressure regulator stainless steel fuel feed and return lines greddy racing ti-c catback exhaust basic gauges...egt,a/f ratio, boost, volts
what else would i need to achieve the goals im looking for? any and all help would be appreciated =]
i am looking into either the AEM boost controller or greddy profec II idk which one is better though

i just started not to long ago...lol, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong,
330cc injectors, and a sfmu should be somewhere around 250whp...

Yes, Vortech is the best if not the only lol, 12:1 or 10:1(don't know) your going to have to do some research there, check the wiki...or someone with the knowledge will post it on here...

i thought you needed another type of management if you used injectors of 270cc?

as far as i know your not going to need any other type of managment for up to 330cc injectors...
What I've been told is, 330cc injectors SFMU Walbro 255lhp Fuel Pump FPR (Fuel pressure regulator) and i think that was it to run a nice idleing 420a turbo up to 15psi...

WAIT...lol i forgot you didn't mension a built bottom end, this was said to me considering i have a built bottom end (eagle rods, je pistons) so in your case, you prob can't put 15psi...so in your case 6-8psi is good w/o destroying your internals, now if you had forged internals, you could do the 15psi and prob make 300 to 350HP...

i figured, im just trying to get 225whp for now, and planned on building the bottom end at a later time..im just trying to figure out the best fuel set up for that.

If you just want to make around 225hp on a stock bottom end, run low boost with a SFMU setup. You can prob get away with 270cc injectors, in which case you can just run the SFMU and wont need any other management tools. An idle fuel pressure of around 45-50psi should suffice.
You can go as high as 330cc on an SFMU setup, but you will want to lean out idle a bit which can be achieved using an SAFC. If you go any bigger with the injectors, your idle fuel pressure will have be too low and your spray patterns will be garbage. That is when a real management unit like MSnS can come in handy.
Good luck!

alrightt thanks for the help!
however if i did end up going with the 270cc injectors and the 12:1 vortech would i be able to run 7-8 psi boost on the motor at any point without a problem? assuming that low boost on a stock bottom end is 4-6 psi?

It depends on how big your turbo is. There are many variations of the t3/t4. Safe on a stock bottom end on a 16g is around 8psi, if you have a bigger turbo then its a little lower.
