Give the dude a chance everyone. If they work I might even buy a set. For god sakes, large companies only charge that much because they can. If this dude can do them for $300, you know a a larger company could beat that price because they get shit at cost. Just because it doesnt have some fancy name doesnt mean it isn't as good.
