Horrible deal. Can I get his # though and can you find out if he has 2 of them cause I want 14b's on my car :-) . $100 sounds like a sweet deal to me if it's in good shape.

1,000 miles or 100,000 miles? I doubt it has 1,000 miles on it or it would not have those problems.

That being said, you expected a mint condition used 14 year old turbo? My stock turbo with 92k miles on it had 3 cracks on the wastegate, cracks down the inside of the turbine housing, and carbon buildup everywhere. (I mean come on, it is in the direct path of exhaust gases.) It was extremely reliable, gave me zero problems, ran consistent low 13's, and I sold it for $175.

i think he ment he had it for 1,000 miles. totally misleading in the sale post, just glad i checked the condition bifore buyin it.

still might offer him 10 bucks for it, my current 14b is leaking a small amount of oil on the intake side. might just stick the two good parts together and see how it goes. on second thought if i did that i would probly have to balance it, i dunno, still undecided

Unless the compressor wheels are chipped or bent, the guy's turbo sounds like it has perfectly normal wear. You won't find a 14B in mint condition anymore. The newest one off a DSM is 11 years old.

Too bad you didnt catch me a few months ago. I sold my ported big 16G with 34mm WG for $50 bucks to UTI. Although, it only had 1 crack on the wastegate.
