let me be the first to thank the mods for bringing back the pits, this is what made the site so fun back in the day.

I'll be honest with you...I think the site was doing just fine without the pits. We'll see how long it is before people start acting like idiots again...

it was doing fine but it was also nice to have one section where you could say whatever. i hope no one starts to act too stupid and get this section shut down yet again.

at least these posts don't count towards your total number of posts...that will prevent the postwhoring problem we had in the old days

I think this is a good chance for us to get to know some of the newer members we have here. Let's keep this section clean and still mostly car related. Take this as an opportunity to be social and yet still very respectful. We all have our on opinions and let's respect that! All in all, welcome to the pits.

Basically, the only thing I ask is, NO NSFW images or personal attacks on other members. The other mods may have different opinions of whats right or wrong but that is all I'll personally lock/delete threads for.
Oh yeah, use the chat or IM for conversations. I don't want to see 2 people using a thread to talk back and forth for an hour about what each of them ate for lunch.

This is the section where people can chill, relax and get to know other members. They can post whats on their mind, post cool links... whatever.
If it starts going downhill, it will end up at the bottom with the 2 previous versions...

i think that many of the ppl that promoted alot of shit have since moved on from the site. all they did was hang around for the pits, and once it was gone they left as well. although they may return...

im with you a bit, i think we did ok w/o a pits section, but i dunno, will be kinda nice to stop off at another place to get a little non tech reading.

Hello new members! Welcome to 2gnt. Some tips:

-The mods are serious about the "BEHAVE" talk. The pits were a big part of 2gnt many moons ago, and got locked several times before finally being shut down permanently. Keep it clean, b/c as soon as Tony or Dino get a headache this place will be closed again

-The pits is a good place for finding the latest funny stuff on the net. I think that's all these 2gnters do all day at work, lol

-If you do find something of worthwile on the net, don't bother posting it in the pits, because someone already posted it 20 threads down. Welcome to last week!

-No pr0n threads.

-And put a NSFW lable if you have something edgy, b/c a lot of us check this site at work. I remember one guy who actually got fired over a 2gnt pits thread (boss walked by and saw over his shoulder), which was not labeled NSFW and should have been!!!

-And look out for a guy named Driggs, who will soon own this forum.

Actually...

The first thing I do when I hit this forum each day is check General. If I can help out, or something strikes me as noteworthy, I'll hit up a couple threads. After that, I go to Performance/Engine. Same deal. Otherwise, I'll see if anything new has happened in the Shootout forum before I check Tuners and/or do some research on the Neon board. :shrug

Ground for deletion will be NSFW and personal attacks. There will be no locking to view a person being belittled or abused. What really bothers me but has no bearing on the issue is the members who come here for the pits ONLY. This isnt the local white hen, you cant loiter your butt here. Find a new hobby. There will be no warnings given, first person that posts NSFW gets some ban time. There is your warning.

Whats up all. Newbe here just saying hi and giving a little backgroung. My name is Kevin, 24yrs old, just got back from iraq in june, and got a 97 Eclipse GS 420 in July 05. Thought I would start keeping up with the latest info and tech on the 2G N/Ts. Looking forward to helpful info........
