Right, so my first mistake was agreeing to go to this stupid car meet in the first place. In my defence, it wasn't all hondas... Anyhow, I nearly put a bullet in my head by the end of the night. Listening to these Honda owning idiots talk about "...I walked a Ducati..." in my car bullcrap all night. I think the best was when someone was trying to sell there junk and said, ".. it's got an H22 with LS tranny ... it is doing 0-60 in 4.5 sec..." Not blown, and not on nitrous by the way...
I was all like, so did you time that one on your wrist watch? I think he was too slow to even know I was talking shit to him. Anyhow, just beware of being in the same place as more than one Honda douche. As soon as there numbers grow, so does there stupidity...

Man you hit the nail on the head about Honda owners being lame. I used to own a Honda when I was younger but wasn't much into making it fast since it was an automatic. I have owned my 2g for almost 7 years now but have thought about buying another Honda because of their reliability and good gas efficency. So I go the other day and post over in a civic forum about how I may be picking up another civic and post a pic of my old civic that had a clean bodykit with 16" rims. Just about every member on their forum flamed me just cause my old car had rims and a kit. WTF?? Some guys that were in their senses pointed out how it was cleaner looking than most of the cars in that site but to 98% of the people in their forum rims and kit meant automatic rice. Funny thing is that all their cars looked exactly alike. They all had cheap ebay lip kits, tiny 14" colored rims, tow hooks on the rear bumper(God only knows why cause a Honda ain't ever towing shit), and all were dropped on saggy looking springs. Their attitude alone made me decide against buying another honda. I'd rather own a driveway full of broken down dsm's than own a Honda and be "Cool" like them. :nuts

I own a honda. Nothing is done to it, but I can't complain about the reliability and fuel efficiency. It is just the 1.5L civic. I get 40mpg in the city, so it makes a GREAT daily driver/commmuter. In fact, I bought it just because it was cheap and I needed something to get me around while I work on the eclipse.
It isn't the car that deserves ridacule. It is the dipshits that know nothing about anything, hence spout off the most ridiculous crap that deserve the bashing.

I had a couple 4 door 3rd gen Integra GSR's. I enjoyed them because they were quick and handled surprisingly well. It always seemed like EVERY other honda idiot wanted to race me.

The biggest honda owner fail I ever had the opportunity to teach a lesson to was pure awesome.

I was driving the vintage Porsche 914 home one day and I ended up being lined up next to some 16-18 year old in an EF civic (late 80's super boxy body) Well the Porsche had a vacuum line that was leaking causing it to hunt at idle, making it sound like the car is revving. The dumbass kid must have thought I was challenging him (I didn't even know he was there) and took off as hard as that poor car could, banging the rev limiter EVERY shift. All of a sudden the dumbass starts hanging out of the window Ace Venturra style screaming, "I beat a porsche! I beat a porsche!" He must have been screaming it as loud as humanly possible because I could actually hear it over the sound of the Porsche.

I decided right then that I was gonna have fun with this kid }(

I proceded to acclerate and catch up to the kid who sudddenly realized that I was chasing him down. He managed to muster every single squirrel under the hood and floored it, sounding like a swarm of pissed off bees.

Now the street we were on stops at a T forcing you to turn left or right, I was in the left lane and I needed to go right and the honda was in the right lane. The fun of a Porsche 914 isn't that it has any amazing accelerartion, but that you don't have to slow down to turn. Once honda boy suddenly realized that he was going to have to turn VERY soon he stomped on the brakes sooo hard that the car would have flipped over forwards if it could. I proceded to downshift and tap the brakes to give the front end a little extra bite as I proceeded to pass the guy and make the corner at 50+ MPH.

I was a good 500+ yards up the hill by the time that kid finished crawling around the turn.

Tow hooks are generally mandated on actual race cars, allowing for sweep to drag the car back to wherever if it should wreck or die. I can tell you that those hooks are there to make it quick and easy to tow the car, not tow other cars (although some might use them as such at the track once in a while).

Typically, though, a tow hook on the rear is there for when the front end has been stuffed into a ditch or something, requiring extraction from the rear. I can picture that on a rally car, but not so much on your run of the mill Hondah.

Then again...

EDIT: Thread salvation in the form of real race car, currently for sale, ($14K, comes with lots of mods, more spares than you can imagine, FUCKING EXCEPTIONAL DEAL ON A FUCKING EXCEPTIONAL CAR). Notice the tow hook on the front. Also notice how there's a lot of paint missing. Also also notice how it's not made of craptacular "billet CNC" aluminum because it's actually used.

Gratuitous tow hook pics, from different angles of course....

Before Nationals:

After the brakes went away at 130+, and they used said tow hook to pull me out of China Beach:

I think you summed it all up right there...

My god, I think the highlight of the night was when this kid got all jumpy because he saw a Z06 pull up. He said, "Man, Imma haveta go and get my dads vet and burn that fool..." Something like that...

Speeking of having no money or job...
One of the honda owners is just that, but apparently he just found out his girl is pregnant. Even with that in mind, after cashing in on some insurance deal, he wants to boost the car instead of buy a crib for his unborn child. Priorities man, priorities.

I totaly support messing with your car as a hobby. Not something that will send you to the poor house.
