Got my H&R Sport springs fed-exed today, ughhhhh. IM intstalling them at my friends house on friday cause he has a spring compressor. Just wondering if it makes any difference if I do the rear or the front first? I will try and get some pics cause I am sitting awfilly high on my 18's as u can see in my sig.

Yup, doesn't really matter. From what I saw when sd_eclipse was putting on my springs, the rear looked easier than the the front. (Hehe, I'm a lazy ass, I just watch:P) Oh yah, be careful about that spring compressor. Don't know if that's the same kind. Dan knows all about these spring compressors...

I usually start with the rears. Its a little easier then the front IMO. Although the fronts aren't that bad just a little more time consuming.
P.S. - #@%!&@*$#^%! spring compressors. Just be careful and watch your hands or those thing will bite. It was more of my own stupidity then anything but it still pinched a good chunck of my skin off.

I did my rears first, mostly because they are MUCH easier than the fronts, but still only took me about 20 minutes each rear side, including the install of the 15 dolla camber mod. The fronts were harder, but took the most time to get rusted bolts off ect, and there is just more stuff to take off. Total time for me for my first time of doing springs, was about 5 hours. Next time i have to do the struts, i can prob do it in 2 hours since i'm familiar with the process. Be sure to use a strut spring compressor. There is also a coil spring compressor used for non strut suspensions, so be sure the compressor is used for strut suspensions. You will also need an ingalls front camber kit, but wait a few days for spring settle,and then go get the car up on the alignment rack to see how off it is. I needed about 1.25 positive degrees of front camber with the H&R sports. The rear was barely in spec for camber with the 15 dolla mod, i had to use a few more washers on mine, and one side needed more than the other for some reason. With these springs you will see, or at least i got about a 2" final drop in the front, and about a 1.6-1.75" final drop in the rear.

so how exactly do you use a strut spring compressor?

I changed my springs and didn't need the spring compressor. It's pretty simple really, but an extra pair of hands will come in handy.

I did the front install last night. Took me 5 hours cuz I was having problems getting some bolts to line up. Otherwise, it would've been quick. I still have to get the back on...maybe later this week. According to other people, those should be much quicker. I didn't use a spring compressor. All I did was turn the whole spring/shock upside down with a wrench on the nut and turned the whole shock/spring until the nut pops off. That way the nut doesn't shoot out like a cannon.
