And what could be done to get rid of it???

i dont have them, yet anyway, but i hear that urethane motor mounts are a good fix for the wheel hop. they also wont tear like the stock ones do. check out the performance area to see what people that have them say. Under motor mounts topic

Seriously, don't launch so hard. If you are wheel hopping, you are spinning the tires, and spinning the tires is a great way to loose a drag race. When you launch the most you want is a chirp from the tires and that's it.
The motor mounts WILL help you to launch harder and avoid wheel hop, but you will probably still be spinning the tires.

Yeah Todd's got it. Try slipping the clutch out instead of just dumping it.
