I narrowed down my prob and now I see that the top part of the strust assembly pops up and down in relation to the mount when I hit bumps and causes noise. When the car is at rest the top part of the strut assembly sits way above where it should be. Please help.

what struts do you have and is it the front or back? Did you tighten the nut at the top before you put the strut back in?

all four stock struts are doing it. The cap on the strut is as tight as it'll go. The whole rod part, nut and washer and all is movin up.

dood.... take GREAT car on what you do DO NOT DRIVE IT! TRUST ME! take the whole thing apart on one and look at it very closely i am almost postive you didnt put the washer inside the strut and spring... be VERY carful though because you will need a spring compressor do not touch the spring or the strut only at the bottom because if that rod is still up you can get your finger in there and it will break it or tear it off, trust me oh and btw... this is why you dont drive it..

Go to www.vfaq.com and look for coilover install. Putting those on is about the same process as your springs.

I figured out the prob. No it didnt pop out the hood LOL. I forgot the stock perch because I had coil overs in there and forgot it when the strut/stock springs were set up. Its all better now.
