5588, 1996 ECU Pinout confusion
Posted by Smash_NDash, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
I Am working on a PnP adapter for my MS3X using an hallowed out ECU.

Something like this:
http://www.neonsquirt.com/joblog/Job_Log_for_Jasons_Neon/Job_Log/Entries/2009/2/7_A_day_full_of_progress.html

And for the life of me I cannot find a 96 ECU pinout! A few people say the ECU's are all the same, 2GNT shows differences between the 97 and 98. I havent found it in a haynes or a service manual so I am in real need of guidance.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

*For the people that ask why I am doing this, it is because I want to run full standalone but I live in an emissions testing state so this would be easier to switch between.

I got an answer from a 420a member on tuners about this.

Apparently all pinouts between 96-99 are the same

The pinout diagram for the 97 is correct for all years
and the pinout for the 98 is wrong.

Can anyone confirm the second part for me that the pinout here on 2gnt for the 98 year is wrong and that the 97 one is correct?

Follow the 97 pinout, and confirm with wire colors/combinations. The colors do not lie.
