104404, preformace head on stock bottom end Q

ok i was thinking about building just the head of my 420a, biger cams, adj camgears, titanium springs new valves, stuff like that, would this give me a noticable increase in power if i put a built head on a stock bottom end! or would something give on the bottom end.

reason i ask is i finaly got my project motor, and i want to build the head and if it can give me a bit more power put it on my motor thats in the car now, then when winter comes i would build the bottom end and turbo it, then all i would have to do is swap heads!

You'll notice a difference.

Power is made in the head. Only reason to rebuild the bottom end is to hold up to the abuse of forced induction or, if you're going to MSnS it, balance the rotating assembly.

Don't go too aggressive with the flow work on your head or you will lose low end torque which is what keeps the car from being a complete turd around town.
