The 4 digit code can have a couple formats. Day Day Day Year Day Day Year Year Since we know the trans is not a 08 version, that counts out the second format. 3 digit Day codes go by the 365 days a year. So this trans was made on the 20th day of 1998. Now some manufacturers use the day codes as a work week code although according to all the research i have done regarding date coded parts that is not typically done by autoparts manufacturers. Stranger things have happened though.
