Check out this link. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?1xj9tzxjatk It's the FSM for the automatic trans in our cars and it's free. In there it should tell you where the sensor is located as well as other useful trans information. On the flip side, you could also check out a haynes manual. They are usually $20 and can be found at almost any auto parts store. Hope this helps.

I already have the Haynes manual but, I don't see to much info on the sensor unless I am looking in wrong part.

Does anyone know what exactly the input and output sensor do?

They report about the speed of the tranny at its input and output locations..

By monitoring both sides you (by you I mean the tranny controller,etc..)can figure out if there are any transmission problems and they also report vehical speed to the speedometer.
