88MPH is a good trap speed, but it's nowhere near a high 14 second time ET wise. With a great launch and good shifting, it could be a 15 second timeslip.

As for the launching, it sounds as if you're just dropping the clutch and flooring it. You'll roast the hides everytime. Rev it to 32-3500, pull the clutch only to the engagement point, hold the revs and pull the clutch the rest of the way. That's the long version of slipping the clutch a little. You're putting more HP to the flywheel and using the clutch to adjust for wheel spin.

I've launched at 4500RPMs, with drag radials, with this technique with success enough to get 2.2x 60' times.
